First Half:-
We started the first half very bright with good passing and movement when attacking, we broke through
a few times in the first 10 mins but couldn’t get the lead. When under pressure we did very well defending in numbers.
The back 3 and especially Josh Mather were very solid not giving Blue star any space to play. We made the
break through with about 10 mins to go in the half with a fantastic strike from Josh with his left foot from
outside the box into the bottom corner. Very good half from all the boys.
Half time: 1 - 0
Second Half:-
The second half was much the same, both teams trying to get an early goal. We coped very well closing down, winning
the first or 2nd ball. Josh continued to make it very hard for Blue star as he seemed to be everywhere the ball was making
tackles and passing the ball forward or down the wings. Blue Star got a goal back when Sam Parkinson saved a good shot but
just couldn’t hold onto the ball and it was put away by the Blue Star forward running in. In the last 10 mins we tried everything
to get back ahead and win the game, Nat Conlon hit the post with a header, Cameron Gavagan hit one from the half way line
just saved by the keeper, then Cameron hit another from half way hitting the cross bar and post, Nat followed in but just
couldn’t squeeze it in. Taylor Walker with a great free kick just millimeters over the bar. We just ran out of time at the end.
Final Score 1 - 1
Excellent game from everyone.
Man of the match:- Josh Mather who played out of his skin from start to finish.
Well done boys, back to playing how you know you can. Very unlucky not to get the 3 points you deserved.
I want to see this again next week, if you play like you did in this game I'm sure you will get wins from the last few games.
A great turn around from last week, im really proud of you all.
