Team: Tom Wilson, Louie Staffa, Oscar Cosgrove, Cameron Cox, Tyler Wilkinson, Ketan McDonald and Thomas Pennington. Subs: Mason Brandon and Ben Berry. Report: This was another very pleasing game from my perspective. It was a blustery day and the wind was an advantage in the first half. I was very pleased with the way we passed the ball about in the first half. We had sight of their goal on numerous occasions and perhaps we should think about taking a first time shot to give their keeper something to think about? We kept a pretty good shape throughout the first half, there was plenty of running and passing, I thought Cameron was exceptional at times down the left hand side. I was also pleased to see the team talking to each other, offering advise and suggesting where the ball should be played. I was delighted when we took the lead with a well taken goal by Thomas P. The second half was a bit more tricky, the wind was against us and the Tigers really put us under some sustained pressure. Their efforts were rewarded with a goal early in the second half. They kept the pressure on for long periods in the second half, at times we seemed a bit pegged in our own half. We worked hard to repel them and then had a break of our own, from which Thomas P again scored. It was turning into a very good day for Thomas! The game wore on and Tigers' corners, in particular, were causing me some concern. All in all it was a game of two halves!! I was very pleased with the amount of commitment shown today by all of the players - you all deserve a big pat on the back! As a team, we are now playing some very good football, this will only get better as you progress to the 9v9 game next season. Ossie was awarded the Man of the Match for a brilliant defensive/midfield performance - well done!! Just one last thought: BEWARE! We are playing the Tigers again next week. They will want to win that match, so be ready for a tough match......... (Dave Young) |
