If anybody watched Englands fantastic display on Wednesday night agains't
Croatia must have thought they was watching a replay of last nights game, when
Darwen Rangers tore apart Blackburn Eagles tonight. The passing ,movement,
clinical finishing, talking, defending, crossing was phenomanal, even though
the performance was great we still have things that we can improve on, but with
only 1 training session behind us and 2 games, I can honestly say things do
look good on and off the field and will look better once we start working on
things in training.

First Half

The lads came out of the traps raring to go and put Blackburn Eagles on the
back foot from the off, early pressure took it's toll on the Eagles back line
and we was soon rewarded with Craig Robinson pressuring the defender to put
through his own goal, the second goal soon followed and this time we was
awarded a penalty when Josh Wickers was brought down in the box, up stepped
Jordan Rolfe and hit the ball hard and low to the keepers right. The lads re
grouped and was soon pounding the Eagles goal with shots, but for there keeper
making some great saves and a little bit more composure we could've had another
3 or 4, but then up stepped Jordan Yates who collected the ball from a throw in
he cut inside and curled a great shot into the top right corner from 20yds.
With 10 mins still to go in the first half, the Eagles keeper was again called
into action , the keeper took a goal kick and unluckily for himself it landed
at Josh Wickers feet who looked up and chipped the keeper from just before the
halfway line, only Beckham's scored a better goal than that. After that we
decided to take our foot of the gas for a couple of minutes and we got caught
out with a long ball,Cameron started to come but for some bizarre reason he
stopped and went back, and on his way back there striker had planted it into
the back of our net. This was our only blip in the game and we all must shoulder
some responsibility in conceding the goal. After that we went straight back at
Eagles and Jordan Yates scored a carbon copy of his first goal, another great
finish by our captain.

H.T. 5-1

Second Half

As soon as the whistle blew the lads once again went straight into the Eagles
and never let them settled, for all his tireless work in the middle of the park
Aiden Young was soon rewarded with a goal, then in between Yatesie going for
his hat trick with his long range efforts up popped Josh Wickers with another
well taken goal, Jack Marsden then scored another 2 goals, both finishes showed
great composure in front of goal, as the clock was ticking down Craig Robinson
showed great pace and left the defence for dead, he then placed the ball past
the keeper. All 5 goals was created by some fantastic passing and moving, great
support and communication between each other.

F.T. 10-1

Man of the match:- Jordan Yates

If I was to go onto individual performance sI would be here all night, every
single player that took part tonight got at least 30mins play and every single
one of them gave 110%, if we give that every week we will win more than we'll
lose, I'm very proud of every single one of you tonight, you put a smile back
on my face after a rubbish day at work. You also played football the way it
should be played. Thanks.

Lastly a massive thank you to all the parents for helping in setting the pitch
out, putting the nets up and the barrier, and in also staying behind and
helping us clear up, thanks to Craig for running the line, also a big thank you
to all those who've volunteered to wash the kit, and my last one is for Diane
in dragging me back to this mad world of football and giving me the chance to
work with a talented squad who can get better. Your support is valuable,
thankyou.
