Notes:	This was the lads' second midweek outing, and another fantastic display of football tonight. We started the game slowly, and took a while to settle into our stride. Josh Knowles started his first game of the season for the team tonight, and soon began to dominate in the midfield areas. He was soon of the mark with a cleverly worked first goal, followed by two more great strikes in quick succession for his hat-trick. Blue Star were then gifted a penalty, when we took our foot of the gas, Cameron in goal had no chance of saving. There were some excellent individual performances tonight, great passing and moving, and lots of talking, and we soon had another hat-trick hero as Jordan Rolfe ran on to two long balls and netted both of them, and an individual dribble past the Blue Star defence for his third. Jordan Yates efforts were then rewarded just before half time, 7-1 at the break. Blue Star came out the livelier of the two teams in the second half and were rewarded with another goal. This kickstarted another Darwen Rangers onslaught on goal, Jack Marsden smashed the ball into the net, and then Alex Slater who came on as sub, battled really hard, and was put through, he controlled the ball and shot low, great goal Alex, all your effort and persistence paid off. Jordan Yates was next to step up with his second goal of the night. From my point of view, the most deserved goal was the 11th goal of the night, scored by our star player tonight , Jammal Khan. Jammal never gives up and his great play and understanding of the game is a pleasure to watch. He is an outstanding new signing this season and had numerous efforts cleared off the line, saved onto the crossbar, until finally he put one away. Well done Jammal, you must have heard the cheers from all the supporters when the ball crossed the line!! The final goal was another shot from Josh Knowles, for his fourth of the night. Final Score was Blue Star 2 Darwen Rangers 12. Man of the match chosen by Blue Star: Jammal Khan I would just like to say well done to Blue Star who battled hard to the end and didn't let their heads drop. All the players were brilliant tonight, Conor Ward at right back was hard in the tackle, Reece Tapp and Thomas Holmes at Centre Half were solid throughout, with plenty of headers won tonight. Josh Aspinall came in at left back for Dylan Mclean and did a great job. Craig Robinson was injured in the first half, so all the team are hoping he is fit for the next game next Sunday. Thanks again to the parents who helped put up the nets and take them down, even though this was not our home game, thanks to John Slater for running the line and to Cath and Neill for taking the kit home to be washed. Well done lads, your hard work in training is really paying off this season, and long may these great results continue. (Diane Rolfe)
