Scorers: Maxwell Ellison,Nico Ceraldi
Today we started as we left off last season straight on the attack and pressuring there goal.We went close on a number of times with there keeper pulling off some good saves. Not only that the passing between the team was superb and very good to watch. For the first goal Nico broke down the right wing, took the ball to the edge of the box crossed it to Max who side footed it in.Greatly worked goal! Saul then had had great shot blocked and Nico went close on two other occasions.Charlie ran the midfield and passed the ball really well today.Paddy and Daniel had little to do with George the Keeper having to make one good save.
The second half started much the same with us pressuring the wolves deep in there half again. The pressure resulted in Nico breaking through and slotting the ball past the keeper{great finish}Then like the wind the game changed? WE stood back and watched as a long punt went straight over the top and two Clitheroe players latched onto it.he took a shot and George made a superb save.they then shot again and it hit the post, then George saved again but eventually the ball got put in the back of the net.In all this time we still had four players who hadn't got back. Then with that goal heads went down and nerves got the better of us.Clitheroe smelt blood and fair play to them put us under pressure forcing mistakes. We battled hard but again it was a long ball which broke through and Clitheroe put it away.
For long periods of the game we bossed it and it should of been over by half time.We played a great passing game and had alot of width to our play. The lesson we should learn today should be,no matter how much of the ball you have being two goals up is great but it only takes a goal to turn every thing around.Great credit to Clitheroe for not giving up! Well done lads good result and great passing onto the next one.
