First Half
A good start to the new season so a robust Lammack team playing some tidy football creating several chances which Matt saved well. Jack O and Jordan stood firm and blocked several shots at goal. Jack O read the game well and stamped his authority on the game with some firm tackles and headers. With the wind against us we had difficulty getting out of our half but a couple of firm passes from Harry to Connor then through to Tommo put Lammack on the back foot. From the throw in Adam broke free and shot wide from a tight angle. Andy making his debut had a couple of speedy runs down the right hand side and put some good crosses in. Lammack replied with a sustained attack which resulted in a corner. A great header and we were 1 – 0 down. Well done for not letting your heads drop and for competing for 20 minutes before they scored. A confident Lammack took heart from the goal and had a couple of chances but stout defending with blocks coming from Harry, Jack O, Jordan and Max kept the ball out. Matt made a couple of great saves which Lammack followed up and as the ball was about to go in Keenan ran past a stranded Matt and cleared it off the line. Lammack scored a good goal after a couple of neat passes which took it to 2 – 0. Jack Allen replaced Andy and Smithy came on for an injured Adam who got kicked bursting through towards goal. Patient football and a good attitude from you all kept if at 2 – 0 but Smithy nearly nicked one back with a great turn and shot in the box.
Second Half
Lammack started off were they had finished by attacking straight from the kick off. Hitting the crossbar (the rugby one not the football one they did this several times which caused a little confusion when the ball came back into play and Lammack scored. The Referee disallowed the goal and correctly gave a corner). Unfortunately Jack Allen had to come off injured after a strong tackle and Keiron came on and got stuck in straight away. Lammack scored 2 goals in quick time to make it 4 – 0. At this point you dug in and created a chance Connor and Kurt working a pass through midfield which found Adam on the right who shot across the keeper just wide. Andy came on for Keiron and made an immediate impact breaking down the right and crossing with Tommo nearly getting on the end of it, Dillon won the ball back playing a cool pass back to Max who put the ball in the box. Lammack started to look a little flat as you continued to pass and put them under pressure. Max winning a couple of tackles released Tommo who rolled in Adam. He took the ball on a pace and drilled the ball in the bottom corner. A similar move saw Adam scoring again 2 minutes later but was ruled as offside. A break from the free kick found the Lammack Striker 1 on 1 with Jack O who put in a brilliant sliding tackle to recover the situation.
Overall a good team performance with some great individual efforts. You have already demonstrated that you have progressed from last season.
Well done. Keep smiling and keep working hard.
